Development Consultant

William Stiegeler

William is the newest member of our team and has worked his own projects for pretty much the entirety of his career, until now!

He had a solid stint in residential development, starting with a humble cottage renovation and progressing in a series of giant leaps to large, complex sites having climbed the merchant-bank beanstalk to discover the wonderful world of structured-finance. It was a truly exciting time.

In the aftermath of 2008 when the house-building sector stagnated, he switched focus to renewable energy, principally hydro and farm-scale wind-energy projects. The direction of travel for the energy sector seemed clear, as did the opportunities not only for financially worthwhile projects, but also for effecting rapid change from reliance on fossil-fuel energy. Wind turbines remain for William the defining symbol of a clean-energy future.

"In amongst I've tried a water sports business, rebuilt a few heritage buildings, dipped my toe in as a futures-trader, and felled & replanted more than a few trees with In-site’s esteemed chairman!

Outside of work, and for a period in place of work, I've done a lot of distance-running, racking-up tens of thousands of miles primarily on fell and mountain-terrain in numerous races and countless training sessions. For those in the know, I'm a Bob Graham man. I currently train at distance carrying ‘the log’, because it's big and awkward and makes it harder."
