Steel company reaches milestone
In the past few weeks, the steel industry has been grabbing the headlines for all the wrong reasons, but it’s not all bad news.
BSB Structural Ltd, based in Scotland, currently produce on average 160t of steel fabrication a week and have just reached their turnover target of £15m. The company which started in 2004 moved their head office to Flemington Industrial Estate, Motherwell in 2010. As their business has grown so have their requirements for larger industrial units with cranes and they now occupy 108,281 sq ft all at the Motherwell site with plans to take another office suite before 2016.
The Directors set out a target of £15m a few years ago and are now celebrating that achievement. How have BSB managed to keep growing in an industry which is struggling? Managing Director Stuart Shields said ‘We know exactly what our customers require and are able to provide a complete and competitive package covering structural steel fabrication and on-site construction. That together with great team work has enabled us to reach our target of £15m turnover.’
